The autor of the script isn't responsible for any damage to the OS, or any other type of problem. I'M NOT AFILIATED WITH LINUX MINT DEVELOPER TEAM! This was a personal project that could be useful to someone. ONLY FOR LINUX MINT XFCE CLEAN INSTALL
- Removes FWUPD (firmware update deamon)
- Updates the system
- Install KDE plasma 5.27 (latest version in LTS of Ubuntu)
- Install some useful apps (kdeconnect, kget, vlc, audacious, ark, partitionmanager, neofetch, htop, fish, terminator)
- Set fish as default shell
- Download an official ISO and do the classic installation of linux mint xfce;
- Download those two scripts or use git to clone them;
- CHECK THE SCRIPTS! NEVER RUN RANDOM CODE, ALWAYS CHECK THEM.
- Make the scripts executable with
chmod +x ./[name-of-script]; - Run the main script as a normal user, it will ask you sudo privileges after;
- Answer the questions during the process and select SDDM as login manager.
- Wait until reboot
- Execute the second script to remove XFCE
Default SDDM theme isn't so good..
So you can change it in system settings → startup and shutdown → SDDM → (3 dots) download more themes then select your favorite one, then apply.
