How to Audit Reads

I have a requirement to write an audit record to the database every time a user accesses a record. I was going to do this through the Audit annotation but I noticed there is no Read action. There's also no Read operation for hooks. Is there a reason the R of CRUD was left out? Any elide way I could do this?

You can expose the audit table as a separate Elide model with read only access.
