I use WLED for holiday and security lighting, ambient lighting throughout the year. I have 4 channel RGB + warm white leds for ambient/security lighting, but in the holiday I use dual or brightest. When the holidays lights turn on, I would like to be able to set "automatic white handling" via my accent prefix to set to dual/brightest, so I'm not manually changing it every day.
Second, Again I use WLED for ambient lighting and my external lights , I may not want them on , while the inside holidays lights are on (we are home, nice to have the lights on, but there is no reason to have the exterior lights on). So right now, if I turn it on, sync goes throughout the house and my exterior lights go on, silly at noon!. So I'd like to be able to schedule when sync is active. Ignore all action before sunset, sunset enable and start listening for sync packets.
Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like to be able to set white handling in my ambient preset. and again set it in the off prefix to reset, so when holiday lights kick in, they are dual/britght/not accurate (because in my case, that means warm white and that's kind of ugly with bright Xmas colors.). So prefix handling of white handling an override of the default.
Sync, again I'd like to enable disable sync based on the time and macros. My outside devices will only listen to sync packets between sunset and a time in my scheduler, outside that, they aren't listening to sync packets and need to ignore them
Describe alternatives you've considered
Manually switching things on and off, which means during the holidays, i'm in and out of the controllers numerous time, vs just allowing things to run.
I don't have the option of powering down during the daylight hours, so that's not an option here.
I could be doing something wrong with white handling and maybe dual opens up a path I'm not aware of, but I don't see it, unless again I should be setting my ambient to a different color, so they only use the warm white (under the guise of dual?)
Additional context
I think I made things pretty clear, but then things are always clear in your head, it's when you try to explain that others , have that"huh" look.
But seriously, give us access to override the white handling, and other things in the presets, or via time and macros. Same for the sync, disable and enable sync during time and macro calendar events.
Thank you for your ideas for making WLED better!
Thank you, takes a bit getting used to when you come from the xlights, FPP world after a decade.
