compilation terminated with errors in Arch linux

When running this command:
python setup.py build_ext --inplace --cython

I started getting this error recently in Arch linux:

gcc: fatal error: cannot execute ‘lto1’: posix_spawnp: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
lto-wrapper: fatal error: /usr/bin/gcc returned 1 exit status
compilation terminated.
/usr/bin/ld: error: lto-wrapper failed
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
error: command '/usr/bin/gcc' failed with exit code 1

Even when building waydroid from the AUR.
Any ideas?
