The globe could be disable under some conditions. Maybe disabling it for mobile, and if possible other conditions

Just to add some info: The devices with problems had 16GB memory, but over ten year old i5 or similar processors. I experienced the problems on Windows 10. I tested both Firefox and Chrome. It worked fine on an older Ipad and ok-ish on a newer i5-8200Y where I get the blank screen for 1-2 seconds when I scroll away from the globe and then up again.
