Support for groups on parameters

Wonder if there are any plans or existing capabilities to list groups on the parameters. E.g., I would like to be able to specify that Bx/By/Bz belong to "Solar Wind/B" group (or path), similar to how how it can be done in HDF. This information could then be used to drive a more organized user interface, e.g., https://ccmc.gsfc.nasa.gov/webviz/?runId=Karen_Ferreira_041625_7.

Hi Maksym, Are you looking for the equivalent in SPASE, which has MeasurementRegion (solar wind) and MeasurementType (magnetic field) attributes? Or, are you looking for an overarching label for a parameter so the plot title is "Solar Wind B" and the lines have labels Bx, By, and Bz? Bob

Bob, I have answered in a separate email, but looks like what I am after is enough information to build a basic visualization interface. HAPI already provide "label" and other fields that area sufficient to label a series on a plot. The missing bit is ability to organize variables in categories, which comes handy when presenting a dataset with many variables. Admittedly, it is not clear what else could be needed down the road, so, rather than re-inventing HDF spec, perhaps a generic free-form 'metadata' field on both fields and datasets might a better option.
