Adopt ktfmt?

Would there be any opposition to adopting a Kotlin formatter like ktfmt in this project?

The pros of using a formatter is that authors don't need to worry about manual formatting (or remembering to run the IDE code formatter). It also auto-sorts imports. I think the biggest downside is that the initial formatting diff messes up Git blame, so people may have to click through the revision when checking blame.

I am a fan of auto-formatting. Any particular reason to pick this specific one over alternatives? I am not familiar with Kotlin tooling and which ones are most commonly used.

I have to acknowledge my bias since ktfmt was built by Meta.

The other formatters I know of are ktlint and the built-in IntelliJ formatter.

I don't have experience with ktlint, though I think ktfmt is better than the IntelliJ formatter and can easily be integrated into CI checks.

I'd be interested to hear others' opinions here!
